1. Event Overview

The 2026 Hyperfly Jiu-Jitsu Gi & No-Gi Asian Open Championships marks the inaugural edition of this prestigious international event, presented by the Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation of the Philippines (BJJFP) in partnership with Hyperfly Philippines.

The event features dedicated children’s divisions with separate boys’ and girls’ weight categories, with the goal of further developing athletes at the grassroots level.

In addition, there will be an adults absolute and weight class divisions for all belts.All divisions will follow JJIF rules and weight classes.

Cash prizes, gift certificates, and Hyperfly Philippines gear are on the line for overall team winners and individuals who win the absolute and/or weight class divisions. Podium finishers receive an all new redesigned medal. Standout performances receive the chance to be an official Hyperfly Philippines sponsored athlete.

2. Date & Time

Saturday, March 28, 2026 Start Time: 9:00 AM

• All Gi and No-Gi divisions will be held on the same day
• Matches begin with Children, followed by Juniors, Masters, Female, and Male divisions

Competitors must check the final bracket schedule on Friday before the event. All athletes must be at the venue at least two hours before their scheduled match.

• Gi competition begins with Children’s divisions
• After all Gi divisions are completed, No-Gi divisions will begin
• No-Gi matches will start after the Gi Absolute divisions conclude
• A more detailed schedule will be released after registration closes

5. Registration Details

• All competitors must create their own profile and register on Smoothcomp
• Registration under multiple team names is not permitted

• Selecting a Team Name is mandatory
• If your team is not listed, notify the organizers and it will be added
• This prevents duplicate team registrations under different names

11. Weigh-In & Identification

12. JJIF Rules Updates

• Black & Brown Belt Gi: Turning inside on straight foot locks is legal
• Reaping remains illegal

13. Competitor Attire

• Rash guard (no fitted T-shirts)
• Rash guard must contain 10% of the competitor’s belt color

Gi

• White, Blue, or Black Gi only
• IBJJF rules apply for patches and Gi measurements

Developmental Goals

In support of grassroots athlete development, the championship includes dedicated children’s divisions with separate boys’ and girls’ weight categories.

All divisions will strictly follow JJIF rules (which are similar to IBJJF) weight classes and age groups for Childrens divisions, ensuring standardized competition formats and fair matchups for all participants. This provides structured preparation for youth athletes aiming to represent the Philippine National Team and compete in international JJIF or even IBJJF-sanctioned tournaments in the future. 

The 2025 Asia Pacific Gi International Open is a standard Gi competition following IBJJF rules for ADULTS , KIDS , TEENS , CADETS ,  JUNIORS   and  MASTERS Gi event . The   No Gi  competition is  winning by SUBMISSION or advantages for Submission attempts that force the opponent to defend the submission.

This year more divisions have been added both Male / Female  up to M4 Children’s division and Junior  Cadet Teens and, Children’s divisions start ing from  ages  U8 yrs  U12 ,  U14 ,  U16 and Juvenile at U18 yrs .  In Conjunction with JJFP all Children’s divisons will follow the weight classes of JJIF  as we endeavour to develop a junior pool for International Competition with a chance to represent the Philippines.

The Asia Pacific Submission No Gi International Open is the 1st Submission only major BJJ International in the region . We look forward to continuing this success with the support of the teams and players in the region.

COMPETITOR INFORMATION; Weigh in before the 1st Match

• Asia Pacific Gi International Open , IBJJ rules apply including match time points and penalties 
• Asia Pacific NO GI Submission Championships. Win by submission or advantages for Submission attempts only no points are awarded for positions.
• Definition of an advantage for Submission; There must be a visible defence , the opponent must be in danger of being submitted before an advantage is awarded.

MATCH TIMES FOR NO GI SUBMISSION ONLY

• Adults White / Blue belts 5 mins plus one min overtime for equal or no score
• Adults Purple / Brown 6 mins plus one minute overtime if there are equal or no advantages
• Adults Black 7 mins plus one minute overtime if there are equal or no advantages
• Masters all belts 5 mins plus one min overtime if there are equal or no advantages
• Overtime ; if a match is a draw a one minute overtime will be called the athletes will remain in the same position.
• Overtime :The Referee will say ” Freeze ” Athletes must remain the same position until its clear before restarting the match. The match will restart in the same position.
• Stalling after 10 seconds the athlete will be penalized if they are not attacking , mount and back control submission defense or submission attempts are not included.
• Penalty allocation 1st penalty on the board, 2nd penalty plus advantage , 3 rd penalty another advantage , 4 th penalty disqualification. 

ELIGIBILITY : Professional MMA Fighters, Judo Black Belts and National Team Wrestlers must compete as Blue Belts.

– Competitor Attire : No Gi Competitors Black Shorts , Rash Guard no Fitted Tshirts with 10% of the competitors belt colour. Gi competitors White , Black and Blue Gis only IBJJ. F rules apply for patches and length of Gis , belts to be in good condition . 

– DIVISION CHANGES : Division changes may be made online through smoothcomp. This must be completed on or before the  CORRECTION  DEADLINE . Corrections and Editing of your entry can be made at Smoothcomp prior to the Bracket Deadline in your registration profile on the Wednesday before the event .

2025 ADCC Philippine International Open

2025 ADCC Philippine International Open – October 18, 1pm

The ADCC Philippine International Open is one of the longest running ADCC Events in Asia since 2010.

To continue to grow the sport more divisions have been added to this years event , Male with three  categories  Beginner , Intermediate and Advanced ,  Female  2 divisions and  2 Masters divisions  Beginner and Intermediate . 

RULES : Rules meeting will be at 8am on the day.

Time Limits

• Qualifying rounds 
• Basic = 5 mins/2 mins overtime if needed. First 2 mins no points, second 3 mins there are points. The positive and negative points start during the points time and all of overtime.
• Intermediate / Professional  = 6 mins/3 mins overtime if needed. First 3 mins no points, second 3 mins there are points. The positive and negative points start during the points time and all of overtime.
• Finals  Professional only = 8 mins/4 min overtime if needed. First 4 mins no points, second 4 mins there are points. The NEGATIVE POINTS start even during no points time.
